I do it for a living, so count me in as one of them. But how do you pick who to watch when they are both playing? Of course it’s easy to pick when the Celtics are at halftime or the Bruins are in an intermission, but let’s be honest, you’ve made up your mind well before either of those happen as to which game is going to be the primary game you’re going to watch.

I overheard a Celtics broadcaster saying prior to the Patriots-Ravens AFC Championship game, “Well, I’ll be doing the game Sunday during the Patriots game so nobody is going to watch.” To be honest, that’s a fair assessment. I clearly chose the AFC title game over the Celtics and I’m sure that unless you hate football, you did too.

My real question is who to pick when they are both playing in the same time frame? On March 23rd,when they will both be playing around the same time (Bruins 7PM at Toronto, Celtics at 8PM at Memphis), who do you watch? Does it depend on the opponent? Last night the Celtics played Charlotte, while the Bruins played Sydney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Obviously the former Cup winners boast more star power than that of the “Best of” compilation CD of former Connecticut Huskies and Duke Blue Devils (Jeff Adrian, Kemba Walker, Ben Gordon, Josh McRoberts, Gerald Henderson, etc).

Another question is, does picking to watch one team over another make you more of a fan of one? I actually can’t vote on the debate regarding yesterday as the Uconn-Notre Dame women’s basketball dominated my 55 inch screen last night and by the time that was over, the Celtics were proudly wearing the scars of embarrassment, and we all knew the barrage of pucks going about 900 MPH at Anton Khudobin were eventually going to get in the net. SIDE NOTE: For all you haters ripping on me for watching women’s basketball, you probably are justified simply because the two teams will meet for the 1 billionth time this season next month in the National Semifinals (The Final Four for those of you who cant count), making this game rather irrelevant. Anyway, I picked the only one of the three that was a good game, so I win.

What I want to know is do you guys struggle with who to watch like I do? I feel like if I don’t pick one or the other, then I miss out on both. How do you die hard Boston sports fans that have years of Boston sports watching on me cope with this?
