It was a nail biting AFC Title game yesterday, but the New England Patriots lost to the Denver Broncos by 2 points! It was a strange game. Tom Brady threw 2 interceptions in the first half, kicker Stephen Gostkowski missed his first extra point since his rookie season in 2006. <\/p>\n
“I lost the game,” Gostkowski said.
\n“I feel terrible. … It’s a nightmare scenario. That’s how I feel. I let a lot of people down.”
\nGostkowski’s missed kick after the Stephen Jackson’s touchdown in the first quarter left the Patriots in a 7-6 hole at the time. In the fourth quarter, the Patriots trailed 20-12. But after Rob Gronkowski’s touchdown in the final minutes, they were forced to go for a 2-point conversion attempt that the Broncos snuffed out.
\nGostkowski felt the weight of that, knowing he should have been in position to kick a point-after attempt that would have evened the game at 20-20 if he had converted in the first quarter.
\nUnfortunately, now after they started the season 10-0, New England will not be going to the seventh Super Bowl in the Brady-Bill Belichick era. Brady will not be winning his record fifth Super Bowl title, which would have been the most ever for a quarterback. <\/p>\n
