All polling showed a big win for Illinois Senator Barack Obama on January 8, 2008 in the NH Primary. This coming on the heals of a surprise win in the Iowa Caucus, just days before. A win that night was sure to send Obama to the Democratic nomination.
But, in the afternoon the campaign of former First Lady Hillary Clinton started to sense the tide turning a bit in their direction. They still didn’t think they were going to win, but they could make it closer than they expected.
