NH Now: Will Donald Trump Be Donald Trump or Will He Play Nice?

Businessman Donald Trump promises to play nice with his GOP opponents-sorta. Trump hasn’t officially announced his candidacy, but he is doing fairly well in polls in New Hampshire. Trump believes that the official announcement will probably be in June or maybe July,. After mentioning an unfavorable article in the NY Times about Senator Rubio and blasting Jeb Bush for supporting Common Core, he was asked about how he will treat his opponents in a debate format. Trump stated that he would be “respectful.” Then he quickly changed the topic to the many urgent problems that the United States is facing. Trump believes that the real unemployment rate is 19-21% not the 5.6% rate which is reported by the government. He also responds to why he gave the Clinton Foundation more than $100K. The Trump plan for turning things around is primarily based on renegotiating our trade deals with China and Mexico. “China and Mexico are stealing our jobs. If he were president, Ford wouldn’t be allowed to build their $2 1/2 billion plant in Mexico and then ship them to the US tax free. He would hit them with a 35% tax unless Ford built the plant in the USA.

Donald Trump was in the news for another reason lately. The Hill, a Washington, D.C. political newspaper, reported that Trump has donated $100,000 to the Clinton Foundation. When he was asked about giving to the controversial foundation, Trump claims that he was giving to this charity like he gives to many other charities and foundations. He then criticized the apparent misuse of funds by the Clinton Foundation for travel and other non-charity related activities. “I’ve been fortunate to build up my business to such an extent that I can afford give a lot of money to a lot of charities.”
