In a move to shore up what is a perceived gender gap, many experts feel that Donald Trump will choose a woman as his vice president. Business Insider listed five potential candidates. New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte was number 3 on the list of 2 current governors, another senator, and former Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice. Business Insider described Kelly Ayotte as,”a fast rising star in Washington who has taken a leading role in the debate over defense and national security.” In the interview with Chris Ryan, Trump stated that he likes the concept of a female running mate. He also admitted that he has met with Senator Ayotte on a few occasions and one time at length. Trump also added, “I think that she is a tremendous representative. I like her a lot.”

For obvious reasons, Trump stated that he has to win the nomination first. Then he pointed out that choosing a running mate comes down to who is hot at the time, who is available at the time, and who wants to do it.

The rest of the interview was also full of typical Donald Trump style straight from the shoulder remarks. He declared that Hillary is finished. Trump feels that she can’t survive the most recent disclosures about her emails. When he was asked about having a more positive tone in his campaign. He stated that he is an optimistic person, but it’s hard to be positive when there is a terrible deal with Iran. He is troubled by giving them billions while not getting an exchange of prisoners. He is concerned about the recent incidents of murders committed by illegal immigrants who have been deported numerous times.

When Donald Trump was asked about giving some specific steps for fixing some of our problems, he insinuated that he doesn’t like to tip his hand and that it’s not how he does business. To him plans are meant to be broken. He prefers to be flexible and react to developments as they occur. He is critical of politicians because they do too much talking and not enough acting. Mr. Trump also weighed in on building up the military, how to deal with the threats from ISIS, the destabilization of the Middle East, bad trade deals with China, and replacing Obamacare. When he was asked about how he would use presidential power, he brought up the IRS targeting scandal and pledged that he would never do something like that. He also reminded us that–unlike other politicians–he can’t be bought. Since he is very rich, he feels that he would not be beholding to special interests or lobbyists.
