NH Now: Rand Paul Continues His Charge That He Is the Only Fiscal Conservative

After filing for the New Hampshire Primary, a large group of supporters joined Senator Rand Paul for speeches and songs at the Capitol building in Concord.. The senator then joined Chris Ryan for a discussion of a variety of topics, such as: the presidential race; the recent Republican debate; how to deal with the threat of ISIS (This interview took place before the Paris attacks.); and how to control government spending.

Senator Paul feels that too much emphasis has been placed on national polling. He questions their accuracy because many people are still undecided and there are still so many candidates. Paul believes that this is a contributing factor in the under coverage of his campaign. He doesn’t believe that Trump or Carson will win the Republican nomination. He took the chance to reiterate his disagreement with Marco Rubio over increasing defense spending by a $ 1 trillion. S=The senator from Kentucky contends that spending like that is not what a “Conservative” would advocate. Senator Paul also believes that we can fight ISIS more economically by enhancing the ability of Middle eastern forces like the Kurds. At the time of the interview, Senator Paul stated that he felt that our looming $19 trillion debt was a bigger threat than ISIS.
