WHAT IS NH OPERA IDOL?
NH Opera Idol is an opera competition with a storied history here in the Granite State! It
offers cash prizes and contracts to young opera singers who will compete for cash
awards and performance contracts to our July 2024 opera production, “I Pagliacci”.
We will offer the Live Final Round for the 10 -12 Final Competitors of the competition
at the Cantin Room at the Bank of NH Stage in Concord, NH on April 28, 2024.
Typically, over 50 singers from all over the United States apply to this annual
competition, and this year, WKXL is the official sponsor of NH Opera Idol 2024.
The audience will choose the cash award winners at this performance. In
addition to cash prizes, contracts will also be awarded for “I Pagliacci” roles to be
performed at the Scenic Theatre in Pittsfield, NH on July 13 & 14, 2024. The
performance will be fully staged in Italian with a small orchestral ensemble. Singer
stipends and housing will be offered to winners.
