Concord police searching for man who slashed clerk

Concord police are searching for a man who slashed a convenience store clerk with a knife during a robbery Sunday afternoon on North Main Street.

The altercation occurred about 2:25 p.m. when a hooded man wearing jeans and white sneakers entered the Concord Mart Convenience Store at 242 N. Main St. He allegedly flashed a knife at the clerk, who grabbed a stick and began fighting off the suspect. Police said he sustained the hand injury during the struggle, and was later treated at Concord Hospital.
