Senator Sanders considers climate change to be causing a planetary crisis. For this reason, Sanders is unequivocally against the controversial Keystone Pipeline Project. The senator from Vermont opined, “If you are serious about addressing the problem of climate change, you can’t be supportive of the excavation and transportation of some of the dirtiest fuel on earth.”
To make solar energy more affordable to small businesses and homeowners, Senator Sanders suggests that creative financial mechanisms be used. It’s called bill financing. The money saved by using the alternative energy source would be used to pay back the loan needed to install the solar panels.
